Group Travel Commissions "Young Adult and Student Travel" Sections Downers
Grove, IL - Leisure Group Travel magazine, the leading editorially driven publication
for the group travel industry, has enhanced its targeted editorial calendar for
2004 with the addition of two Young Adult and Student travel sections. The sections
will appear as featured supplements in the June and December editions of the magazine. "There
is an increased interest from our subscriber-base in the young adult and student
segment of the group travel industry, both in terms of how-to editorial, and more
information about destinations that cater to young adult and student groups,"
said Jeff Gayduk, publisher of Leisure Group Travel. "These two sections
will directly address this market from a grass-roots perspective." Though
historically editorial content in Leisure Group Travel has catered to the mature
group marketplace, Gayduk says that many readers are expanding their offerings
by entering the youth market segment. "Our subscriber base runs the gamut,
from medium to large operators that belong to organizations like SYTA and SMART,
to motorcoach companies and travel agents packaging student trips, to individual
organizations like schools, churches, YMCA's, park districts and youth groups
that are seeking to learn more about promoting experiential youth travel. It's
because of them we are commissioning these pieces." John Kloster, Editor
in Chief of the magazine said, "We will approach these sections in the same
fashion we write all of Leisure Group Travel, with insightful, informative and
timely stories that help our readers run their business and plan better trips,"
To help identify the latest trends in the young adult and student market segment,
Leisure Group Travel is forming an editorial advisory board comprised of tour
operators, destinations and suppliers with the assistance of Michael Embrey, president
of FunME Events, Excursions and Entertainment, based in DeKalb, IL. Candidates
interested in serving on the editorial board are urged to contact the magazine
or Mr. Embrey directly at 815-756-1263. Special Destination Planning Guide
advertising rates have been established for the sections. These 1/6 page, four
color ads provide an opportunity for destinations and suppliers to reach this
eclectic audience at a highly attractive rate (from $790). Discounted rates are
also available for larger size placement ads. About Leisure Group Travel
