Tips Issue 2004 Editorial Calendars, Extend Special Promotional Rates For DMO's
Downers Grove, IL - Premier Tourism Marketing announced the release of
their 2004 Editorial Calendar for Leisure Group Travel and TRAVEL Tips magazines.
A plethora of exciting destination features, special interest articles, regional
and international updates are on tap for next year. The complete editorial calendar
can be obtained by visiting /press_room/editcalendar.html,
or by calling the firm's headquarters. Here's just a sample
of 2004 highlights: Providing Direction, Ideas and Resources in Tourism
Leisure Group Travel continues its position as the premier publication for today's
on-the-go group travel organizer. With an increased focus on the Domestic U.S.
and Canada, eighteen state and city features are on tap for next year, with subtle
enhancements to the bi-annual features on each of the 6 U.S. regions, and a host
of special interest story topics in each edition of this award-winning magazine.
Leisure Group Travel is cited by readers as the only publication to effectively
balance editorial coverage and offer "how-to" articles for planners.
Enhancements to the magazine's U.S. regional updates include more planning
resources, detailed festival and event listings and special interest topics such
as heritage and culture, eco-travel, and sporting events. John Kloster, the publications'
Editor in Chief notes, "We have reshaped our destination coverage to make
it more relevant to all planners, regardless of experience. For those familiar
with an area, we focus on what's new and hidden jewels, as well as showing how
that can be incorporated into itineraries. For planners new to an area, we also
include the basic facts, highlights, top events and sample itineraries."
Special interest stories for 2004 include African American Heritage, Halls
of Fame, Factory Tours, Birding Trails, Agri-Tourism and Civil War sites. Jeff
Gayduk, publisher of Leisure Group Travel states, "We have found that as
the dynamics of the group travel market change, more and more readers are specializing
in niche products. Our special interest articles appeal to this group, but also
to any planner who is seeking to incorporate specialized activities into their
regular itineraries." Travel Planners' Resource for the West
TRAVEL Tips will strengthen its Western destination editorial in 2004 to include
two "City Focus" articles in each edition, broadened coverage of the
Frontier and Mountain West and a host of new state features. "TRAVEL Tips
is the undisputed leader insofar as delivering timely news and information about
the Western group travel market," says Kloster." And with over 12,000
subscribers that plan travel to the Western United States and Canada, we have
the largest pre-qualified circulation in the marketplace." Announcing
Promotional Offers The publications are responsive to difficult market
conditions, particularly among DMO's facing historical budgetary situations. To
assist tourism offices in stretching their advertising dollars, and reach the
growing group travel market, Premier Tourism Marketing has announced a special
Buy Three, Get One Free offer, where any DMO buying three ads in one magazine
for issues May 2003 through July 2004, will receive a complimentary ad of the
same size in the 2004 Directory of Tourism Offices, published in November 2003
in print and on-line. Other incentives are offered for DMO's spearheading co-op
campaigns, including complimentary Internet exposure on one of the firm's leading
web sites for the group travel industry. The offer applies to new advertising
orders booked between March 15, 2003 and July 1, 2003. Gayduk said, "We know
that leisure groups are still traveling strong, despite the soft economy. Most
importantly, we know readers trust our publications to help them make important
buying decisions for their groups. With this promotional offer, DMO's can reach
our eclectic audience at a reduced rate, and start putting more heads in beds!"
