| FYI News and Insight Your
Best Way to Reach Groups (April 2004) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome
to the April edition of FYI, brought to you by Leisure Group Travel, TRAVEL
Tips, Leisure Travel Directory and Goexperience.com. The last two editions
of FYI have reported positive advance group booking trends for the first half
of this year, both from our internal reader surveys, and from the National
Tour Association's member poll. I often subscribe to the "figures lie
and liars figure" school of thought, so I often seek justification for
any type of statistical analysis. It didn't take long...One of our new GO
members, Sue Rothermel from Champaign, IL, just sent me a copy of her April
client newsletter. Out of 15 trips planned this year, she's already sold out
9! Speaking of GO, we're continuing to grow membership with 50 group
travel organizers who have registered and paid their annual dues, with applications
from another 40. We will soon be opening up membership categories for
preferred suppliers and destinations as well as launching new services for
members. jg ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in this issue ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *

with Circle Michigan to Create Tour Planners' Guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our
custom travel publishing division was selected by Circle Michigan to publish
their 2005 Tour Planners' Guide for the travel industry. Published in November,
for the first time ever the guide will be formatted as a travel magazine,
giving readers a perspective of Michigan's regions, detailed member descriptions,
maps and travel resources. The guide will be 64-72 pages in length and
will be mailed to 15,500 Leisure Group Travel readers with additional distribution
at industry trade shows, conference and events attended by Circle Michigan. "Contracting
with our Allied Partner, Premier Tourism Marketing, to produce the 2005 Circle
Michigan Tour Planner's Guide is a natural. We are very excited about the
new magazine format that will provide tour planners with timely essentials
to produce an incredible Michigan tour. This is a complementary resource to
our more detailed web site," said Patricia Thomas, Executive Director
of Circle Michigan. Would

Kloster, Editor in Chief ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prior to each
issue of our magazines, we solicit editorial information on the areas we will
be covering, along with providing information on the direction our articles
will be taking. While we certainly get sufficient response to put our
articles together, the reality is that we typically only hear from 10% or
so of the areas we're covering. Our audience is group travel organizers,
so we're obviously looking for items of interest to that audience. But
we know that there is a lot of information that would be of interest to them
that we're not receiving. While it does take some time to produce targeted
press material, it is well worth the effort. Readers tend to believe editorial
more than they do advertising or trade shows. Plus, you're not paying for
it, other than with your time. Another tip we would offer would be to have
images available to accompany your pitch. When we are trying to decide what
to cover, the news that has corresponding images, particularly interesting
ones, always wins out. Alternatively, having the images in downloadable
format on your web site works very well for us too. The bottom line
is that 90% of you are not taking advantage of your press opportunities, probably
with other publications as well as us. We want to be your partner in influencing
our subscribers to know what you have to offer. We've
produced a Powerpoint presentation called Unlocking Your Media Potential. Email

TRAVEL Tips Issue 2005 Editorial Calendars ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Numerous
opportunities are available to reach 27,000 group travel organizers in America's

available throughout the year to get your marketing message in the hands of
interested group travel planners. We continue to reshape our destination

jewels, as well as showing how that can be incorporated into itineraries.
For planners new to an area, we also include the basic facts, highlights,
top events and sample itineraries. If
