Applause For New Youth Travel Magazine

Downers Grove, Ill. September 14, 2005
After just one issue, youth travel publication Prep Traveler is earning high marks from the industry. "I got your new magazine -- Prep Traveler. It's a great publication and perfect for students," said Carol Martinez from the Los Angeles Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Similar comments have been received by the publisher, Premier Tourism Marketing, since releasing the first edition of this exciting new magazine last May.
With the November edition of Prep Traveler to include expanded editorial coverage, Publisher Jeff Gayduk says he's seeing advertiser interest grow along with the applause. "Beginning with the Autumn 2005 issue, we've made the commitment to every state in each issue, targeting both the sports competition segment and the youth performance group segment of the market. This gives advertisers the opportunity to target their message both geographically and by market segment," explains Gayduk.

Double the Markets, Double the Size
The magazine's November edition is expected to double in size from the debut edition, due to the increased editorial content, and major commitments by marquee suppliers that understand the value of this market. Prep Traveler is distributed to 26,000 organizations that plan youth group trips and sets itself apart from competitors by targeting the two most lucrative segments of the youth travel market: performance groups like bands, choirs and pep squads and athletic event planners from all disciplines of youth sports. The firm has deliberately steered away from those markets its competitors target, that of class trips that historically visit the same destinations year after year after year, as history has proven that these groups aren't influenced by new destinations.

The November edition of Prep Traveler will close for advertising and editorial on the 23rd of September.
Looking forward to 2006, the magazine's release dates are shifting in order to take advantage of group booking cycles. The 2006 Spring issue of Prep Traveler comes out in March, while the Autumn issue is set for a September release.
As the Executive Director of FunME Events, Michael Embrey has organized travel for student performance groups for 25 years. He says he was waiting for a magazine like Prep Traveler. "The market has needed a resource like this for a while and I knew the Premier Tourism Marketing staff was capable of producing a top-quality publication."
