Elana Andersen  Andersen
& Associates Elana Andersen's career in the hospitality industry
spans four decades. Educated at Michigan State University's School of Hotel Management,
her professional life began at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. She then joined
Hyatt Hotels Corporation and for many years headed the company's tourism marketing
division and worldwide sales and communications network. In 1982, Elana affiliated
with AMFAC Hotels and Resorts where she played an key role in structuring the
marketing direction of the consolidated Hawaii resort and mainland hotel divisions. Andersen
& Associates was founded in 1985. It is a consulting and strategic planning
company for the tourism industry that specializing in targeting off-peak sales
development and niche marketing programs. An element of this work is Senior Travel
Tips and TRAVELtips magazine . Andersen's accomplishments and leadership
in the travel and hospitality industry have been recognized throughout her career.
She continues to serve on trade associations committees and boards and has received
many honors including: Travel Industry Association of America's (TIA) Hall of
Leaders and the TIA Individual Achievement Award; The Golden Helm from ITB, a
global tourism organization, Woman of the Year from the International Federation
of Women's Travel Organization, as well as PATA (Pacific Area Travel Association)
and National Tour Association. |
